I worked on the team that designed the UI for Vodafone’s new digital assistant, TOBi. This included creating the character and his various expressions, in static and animated form. We created a library of TOBi assets that could be used by designs working in markets across the globe. A lot of the initial phases of the work centred around establishing the correct tone of voice for a virtual assistant, ensuring to make it clear to a user when they are speaking to a robot and when they are speaking to a human in the support centre, transitioning between the two (if needed) smoothly and subtly.
