Challenge & Approach

As Head of User Experience at Pirate Studios, I directed a comprehensive company rebrand and platform redesign that transformed our digital presence and brand position in the creative sector. I led the transition to Pirate.com, crafting a visual identity that sparked creativity and resonated with musicians, artists, learners, and DJs from diverse backgrounds. My design approach prioritized inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring the platform welcomed creators of all ages, skill levels, and artistic disciplines. I coordinated extensive research phases that informed both visual design decisions and platform functionality, creating a system that scaled effectively across multiple languages to support international expansion.

Impact & Outcome

The redesigned platform catalyzed significant business growth, with the mobile booking experience my team and I created increasing on-the-go reservations by 40%. My implementation of a structured user research program directly informed product roadmap prioritization, ensuring development resources aligned with user needs and business objectives. Beyond metrics, the vibrant visual design system established Pirate as a contemporary creative brand that celebrated artistic expression while providing practical access to creative spaces. This project showcased my ability to balance brand aspirations with functional requirements, growing the design team from 1 to 5 members while implementing career development frameworks that supported the company's rapid expansion.
