As a strategic consultant for the National Trust's digital transformation initiative, I guided the organization in upgrading their data warehousing technical platform to enable more customer-centric experiences. I addressed fundamental gaps in data governance, organizational infrastructure, and technical capabilities that were hindering their ability to implement sustainable business and technological change. Through a series of collaborative workshops, I facilitated the detailed design work necessary to develop a robust "Data Function" within the Trust, creating a comprehensive Target Operating Model with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
My structured approach to organizational design fostered strong stakeholder buy-in, creating what the Programme Director described as "a collaborative, functioning and supportive senior data community at the Trust." By involving key decision-makers throughout the process, I ensured the implementation plan addressed both technical requirements and cultural transformation needs. The resulting framework positioned the National Trust to effectively leverage customer data for improved experiences while building internal capabilities for long-term digital evolution, demonstrating my ability to navigate complex organizational change at the intersection of technology and heritage conservation.
